Dear Sisters,
It starts early. You have been awake, taking care of one child, or stuck listing all the tasks that need to be accomplished for the day. Stumbling into the bathroom, you look into the mirror. Where did those bags come from? Then the thoughts come. You are a bad mom. You are worthless. All those mundane tasks you do amount to nothing. You are not making the impact on the world you wish you could.

All those lies circle as you pour yourself out as an offering to your family and to the Lord. In the end, how will washing that one more load of laundry make an impact on the world? The endless sleepless nights wear away at our psyche, and we can get lost. In the pouring out of ourselves, we can sometimes easily forget who we are - our identity. In the frantic search for validation and meaning, we can start looking to things that will only satisfy us for a moment, giving us the joy or validation we are seeking. How can we be reminded of who we are in the slog of daily life? If we are believers in Christ, when we keep his word in our hearts and minds, we can see directly from his words who we are and how much we mean to him. 2 Corinthians 6:18 says you are a daughter of the Most High King. He calls us his daughter.
Hebrews 4:16 says, “ Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” We also have been given the keys and access to the throne of the king of the universe, not out of our own merit, but because we have been bought and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ.
Sometimes we need physical reminders of who we are on days when no one sees us other than our Heavenly Father. Recently, when I wake up in the morning, I put my necklace or earrings on and remind myself. I am the daughter of the Most High King. I have access to his throne and can talk to him whenever I wish. He will never leave me or forsake me in the times I am alone. My encouragement to you, dear daughter of the king, if you need this reminder for yourself, find a physical token to place on yourself to remind you of who you are to the one who will never leave you or forsake you. It does not need to be expensive or flashy, but something that, when felt or touched, brings you out of the lies that you are worthless or that what you do holds no value. You are worth so much to your Heavenly Father; you are worth far more than rubies or diamonds. From Him comes the source of all life and strength.
Your worth is immeasurable. You have been bought at a price. You are loved.
Love,
Kayleen Moore
