Guide to Soul Restoration
Just as a fever is an indication of an underlying illness, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and insomnia often point to something deeper - something soul-deep. Psalm 23 reminds us, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want, He makes me lie down in green pastures... He restores my soul.” When our homes are cluttered, simple tasks can become overwhelming. The same is true for our inner life. A messy soul makes it difficult to think clearly, love well, or live a healthy life.
Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” In John 5, Jesus meets a man waiting by the healing pool and asks, “Do you wish to get well?” He asks us the same question today. I remember hearing those words in my own season of anxiety and loss. Jesus longs to restore you—to walk with you toward wholeness. The steps below will help guide you on that journey of soul restoration.
