All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23 NIV). We all have sinned. When we recognize the sin and brokenness in our lives, we are in the right place. The first step in restoring your heart is identifying that your soul needs to be cleaned.

 

"Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you." (Psalm 51:16 MSG). "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise." (Psalm 51:17 NASB).

What this scripture means is that there is nothing that we can do in our own strength. Good works, the sacrifice of time or money, will not bring us any closer to soul restoration on our own merit. What pleases God is when our spirit acknowledges our need for God to cleanse our souls.​
